Y.Taan.IV, 69b sq. בשביעי נכנסו … מְקַרְקְרִין בווכ׳ on the seventh of Ab they entered it, on the eighth they worked to demolish it, on the ninth they set fire to it; Y.Meg.I, 70c top; Tosef.Taan.IV (III), 10 והיו מקרקרין שביעי כו׳ they worked at its demolition on the seventh, the eighth Lam. R. introd. (R. Joḥ. 1) שהיו מְקַרְקְרִים קירותוכ׳ they tore down the walls of their houses and made of them breastworks and placed them around their forts, v. שוֹעַ; Yalk. Is. 289.
